An important date for your diary – January 9th, 2019 in the Rendezvous at the SC office, 1 St. John’s Lane, London, EC1M 4AR. A get-together with some fellow alumni, which will give you an opportunity to shape the future of the Alumni Association. We’ve launched successfully – where do we go from here? What do you want? Arrive from 5:30 pm for a 6pm start and tell us what you think.
Some of the topics we’d like to discuss are obvious. We think, with your support, we should be able to do a much better newsletter for example. And the website was produced on a budget – it has some good features, but it does feel clunky and is definitely not getting used much. What could we do better? But probably the biggest topic to discuss is simply what is the role of the AA going forward. There’s obviously a real benefit in just having a fairly nebulous/keep-in-touch/did-you-hear-about/social network. I’d be surprised if anyone thinks we should be less than that. But where else do you think we should go? I want to hear your opinion.
We will also hear about SC’s plans for the centenary and opportunities for alumni to be part of what is planned. We are all individuals with different perspectives – can we find a way so that those who wish to contribute can?
Please let me (PM me or email l.lonton@savethechildren.org.uk) know if you can come so we can plan numbers. There will be a social afterwards in the Fence. If you can’t get to the meeting but would like the social, I expect we will get there between 7:30 and 8 pm.
If you would like to attend the discussion session but can’t get to London, please let us know and we’ll see if we can make Skype work. It will be a ‘first attempt’ so we can’t guarantee the technology, but if there is a demand we will give it a go.
Finally on this, it would really help us plan the discussion if we understood at least some of your views on the Alumni Association in advance. Could you please give us just two minutes of your time to complete this survey.
2nd January 2019 at 11:07 #19199Look forward to attending and sharing thoughts about how members of the AA could assist going forward.
