As many of you will know, Hugh died at the beginning of 2017. He was my predecessor as Overseas Director in 1988, and was a truly hard act to follow. I was asked by HRH The Princess Royal if I would represent HRH at the memorial service held for Hugh on 17 March 2017, and Hugh’s family asked me if I would say a few words. Had this site existed then I would have posted my remarks for all to see, but is good to be able to have the opportunity now and to put them on permanent record. They are in the attached document.
