From this week’s SC staff bulletin – 5 months, 52 years, 55 countries, 500 members

This week the SCUK Alumni Network welcomed its 500th member, just 5 months after the group was founded. This network connects former SCUK colleagues, giving them a forum for discussion, social interaction and professional development. Alumni also offer continued support to the Save the Children movement. They have members based in 55 countries whose connection with Save the Children stretches back to 1967 when alumna Anne Watts worked as a nurse for Save the Children in Vietnam. (Anne recently spoke about her experiences alongside former child refugee Vuchuta Ly in an incredibly moving lunchtime talk – catch up here).

The network is making the most of our Centenary year – from supporting our Politics, Humanitarianism and Human Rights conference to planning ‘Party in the Park’ events on Sunday 19th May. If you’re still in touch with former SCUK colleagues who might be interested in getting involved, please direct them to the Alumni Network website for more information.
