What are you doing on Sunday afternoon, May 19th – our centenary? Why not join other staff, alumni and volunteers for a party? This is an unofficial, grassroots initiative, not some centrally planned megaevent. It’s entirely up to all of us to make it happen. As Eglantyne said ‘It’s impossible only if we make it so’

The plan would be for picnics at several locations in the UK and around the world wherever you happen to be. Doubtless London will have the biggest party in Hyde Park near the Albert Memorial, but this is NOT a London-centric initiative. To arrange a party just means identifying a sensible venue, and then pushing the invitation around to anyone you know who might want to come – bring your own entertainment, food and beverage, and something to sit on! The party is for volunteers, alumni, staff, friends and family, but there are no bouncers on the door! Anyone who supports the movement is of course welcome.
Please email the main party address PartyInThePark@SCUKAlumni.org if you wish to announce a party which we will add to the list below, along with any special details. If you’re hosting it in a private venue, you can ask people to RSVP to control numbers.
And that’s the limit of the central organisation. It’s up to you. It would be great if we all made a toast to ‘Eglantyne, Dorothy and the Save the Children movement’. Do take some pictures and share them.
