In August 2025, NSC pulled out of the government coalition, a few months after PVV withdrew in June of the same year. Coalition formations started the last months of the year, gearing towards a minority coalition which was sworn in early 2026. Draft Asylum Emergency measures act with the addendum that aiding people that are undocumented would not be penalized was approved by parliament in December. If adopted, will strongly impact the protection environment. The Act would impact the stability of protection status and access to family reunification. The event amplified Sudanese voices and reaffirmed the importance of sustained international attention to the humanitarian emergency.
